QATAR FOUNDATION STUDENT HOUSING PROJECT -
EDUCATION CITY, DOHA, QATAR

Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development has commissioned the development of a Female and Male Student Housing for students enrolled at the various prestigious campuses in Education City, Doha.  The proposed facility, which shall be located in the Southern Zone of Qatar Foundation’s Education City Project, is intended to provide the students with a comprehensive, state-of-the-art educational student life experience.  It is also expected that QFSH follow the U. S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, endeavoring to achieve a Platinum Rating. The project is being executed in phases, with the first phase, the Building Shells and General Earthworks being executed by the Enabling Works Contractor, MAN Enterprise Qatar with J&P(O) Ltd. carrying out the structures of the Residential Community Centre (RCC) and Utility Building (UB), and the Finishing works to all Buildings, external works and the Mechanical and Electrical works.

J&P(O) Ltd. in keeping with their commitment to sustainability and also as the contractors of this project have appointed Green Technologies FZCO as their LEED Consultant (Construction) to oversee and provide advice on the LEED work pertaining to the construction phase.  Green Technologies has a track record of delivering Green and Sustainability projects in the Middle East and Asia being the LEED Consultants of the first LEED Project outside U.S., which is the Kandalama Hotel, Sri Lanka in 2000, and the LEED Consultants of the first LEED Project in U.A.E. and the Middle East, the Wafi City DCCP ONE in 2006. Green Technologies will support the efforts of J&P(O) Ltd. and their project team to achieve the Client’s sustainability goals.

Green Technologies Scope of work:

  • Contractual Workshop and Training with J&P(O) LTD. Project Management Team on LEED Implementation pertaining to the construction work.
  • Developing LEED Action Plans pertaining to J&P(O) LTD’s scope of work
  • Developing LEED Progress Reports for the construction work and QA/QC
  • LEED Documentation Submission to Qatar Foundation pertaining to J&P(O) LTD’s scope of work
