KING ABDULLAH FINANCIAL DISTRICT,

The King Abdullah Financial District will be the Middle East’s first financial district of scale and of regulatory and technological standards, which will match other major global financial centres. The site is 1.6 million square metres and the development will have floor space of over 3 million square metres.  The King Abdullah Financial District is designed as a state-of-the-art and fully self contained centre for doing business and facilitating investment and enterprise in Saudi Arabia.

In keeping with the developments Sustainability mandate, the project will pursue LEED for Core and Shell Version 2009 Rating System for all its buildings except for two Hotels which will pursue a rating under the LEED for New Construction and Major Renovations Version 2009 Rating System. The Development overall is pursuing LEED Application Guide for Multiple Buildings and On-Campus Projects for the certification of buildings.

Green Technologies has been appointed as the LEED Advisory Consultants to Busby Perkins + Will who are the overall LEED Consultants

While the project will be pursuing all applicable LEED prerequisites and credits, the Green Technologies Scope will pertain to the following tasks;

• Peer Review of prerequisites and credits pertaining to Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plan, Development Density, Storm Water Management, Water Efficiency, Commissioning Process Plan, Refrigeration Management, Construction Waste Management Plan, Construction Indoor Air Quality Plan, Occupancy Indoor Air Quality Plan
• Review of Preliminary and Final Submissions
• Create Prototype Documentation for Sustainable sites – Tenant Guidelines, Energy Efficiency – Measurement and Verification Guidelines,  Innovation in Design – Green Education Guideline
• Provide expertise to the project LEED Executive Team on Regional Topics
