Daylight and Lighting Modeling
Improper application of daylighting techniques will impose visual and thermal comfort problems. Glare or uncontrolled entry of light can be a problem for visual tasks. Too much daylight can impose an increase on the cooling load, which needlessly increases the energy consumption. Because of these problems caused by the improper designing of these systems, Daylighting Design is, if not ignored, fading away. We at Green Technologies, through our vast experience, are aware of its importance and benefits, and therefore engage ourselves in tackling these problems by the accurate improvisation of the respective strategies.
When properly implemented, Daylighting can greatly reduce the energy required for interior lighting. Proper selection of highly engineered fenestration properties can eliminate the glare and reduce cooling load requirement.
Through the use of Daylight and Lighting Simulation Software, the risk of designing and applying Daylighting Strategies will be highly reduced, if not completely eliminated. Ideas and concepts of Architects and Lighting-Design Engineers can be integrated in advance, before the structure is even built, at a low cost and sometimes even at no cost.
Since lighting power is parallel with illumination, this should also be considered and carefully studied. Use of Lighting Simulation Software to predict and analyze the illumination requirement with the power required to provide such luminance is a must if the goal is to reduce energy consumption. Appropriate layout of the lighting and proper selection of
lamp wattage will be part of the simulation task.
Green Technologies, being pioneers in green engineering and sustainability consultancy in this region, with a wide experience of over 30 years in MEP design that includes Daylighting and Lighting Simulation, can contribute to this exercise of making reports and analysis for the project team’s decision making. We offer services such as:
¬ Daylighting Concept Design
¬ Solar Shading Study
¬ Interior Lighting Design
With the above scope of services on Daylighting and Lighting Simulation, further energy reduction will be met while also meeting the required visual comfort, and will certainly contribute towards the project’s sustainability goals. |
